Strawberries and and the power of antioxidants

Strawberries and and the power of antioxidants
I know strawberries are good for me, but how good?
🐝
Strawberries are not only delish, but they are a SUPERfood. Though technically not a berry at all, strawberries have some documented health benefits that are out of this world.
Oxidative stress is a precursor to almost all diseases, which is why eating a diet high in antioxidants is SO important.
🌲
How important you ask?
♻️
Much like cannabis and cannabinoids, strawberries have many compounds that work together to create a synergistic effect that can be very beneficial to not only our health, but our immune system and cellular health, which can better protect us from things such as foreign pathogens.
🐝
Strawberries where shown to not only boost our health, but they help with disease prevention in the fact that they detoxify free radicals, control cell expression of genes that play part in regulating our metabolism, control cell health and proliferation, protect against cancer, and repair DNA damage that can be a result of oxidative stress (Giampieri, et al., 2015). Now that’s impressive!
🌲
If I ever give any dietary advice, it is to eat a diet high in antioxidants. Antioxidants are one of the most important things we can eat in terms of cellular health and disease prevention. Eating food that basically removes oxidative stress can even have anti-aging benefits. Antioxidants are the real heros here.
♻️
The same study stated that strawberries help prevent oxidative stress driven diseases like “… cancer, cardiovascular disease (CVD), Type II diabetes, obesity, neurodegenerative disease, and inflammation” (Giampieri, et al., 2015).
🐝
Supplements? Pshhhh. Eat fruit! The medicine is in the food. Ps. Strawberries are know to have high pesticide use, always buy organic strawberries 🙂
