Minor cannabinoids that have been isolated like CBG, CBC, or CBN are quickly gaining popularity around the hemp industry. When compounds are isolated and taken out of the whole plant products, they are typically less effective (they do best left alone, as nature intended). This is because all cannabinoids do not work independently, which we commonly think. Terpenes give plants their distinct aromas and even carry their own therapeutic benefits. Terpenes profiles can vary from strain to strain. For example, terpenes give lavender and oranges their specific aromas. These cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids work together (synergistically) and they create what is called an entourage effect. This entourage effect creates specific properties that happen when these chemicals are present TOGETHER. They rely on each other for “help”, which would otherwise be absent in pure CBD or or CBD isolates. Next topic we will discuss the endocannabinoid receptors, where they are located, and what they do. We will have to save that for another post. Take care and stay safe.
